As the wife of a transgender woman, I found this memoir both enlightening and relatable. I greatly appreciated Ms. Allen's attention to detail in the emotional journey she shared with her partner through her transition. It was heartfelt, honest, and affirming of a very similar experience in my life. It is a quick read, only 66 pages, and can be read comfortably in one sitting. I also recommend the audio book which Allen reads herself and it allows the reader an insight even more deeply into her personality and emotional response. I highly recommend this book to trans people, partners or would-be partners of trans people, and anyone who wishes to better understand and empathize with our lives.

This gives me hope as a trans woman that I will be able to find a partner who will love me for who I am no matter what. Samantha Allen is an incredible writer. I’ve only listened to her audible originals. I wonder if she has any other books lol

A Heartwarmingly True Coming of Age Tale

I stumbled upon this book due to Amazon, and as a psychology major who has a deep interest in gender and sexuality, a title like "Love & Estrogen" hooked my interest straight away.
Reading the synopsis, I knew I had to read it, and my initial interest at the title was only further fed as I read the first few pages. By the end of the first chapter, I was in love with the writing, the author, and her to be wife.
The writing is refreshingly genuine and real, and by the time was halfway through the second chapter, I was recommending it to all of my friends and family, and I was in love with how eloquently she talks about her transition, her love, and everything else contained.
From beginning to end, I couldn't put it down, and I loved every sentence that is contained within.
I have never seen "make every word count," as well as I saw it here, and my breath and heart was taken with every sentence that told about this beautiful love and transition story.

I thouroughly enjoyed this short story.

The minor thing I didn't like very much is that it felt a bit like reading a paper with all the citations, but the author pulls that off way better than I expected after realizing it'd be a thing.

Wow. So open and Honest - Amazing

Wow. So open and Honest - Amazing writing and really helps understand a Trans journey. Honestly as. Gay male it’s so awesome to be able to read about other LGBTQ stories and not the standard coming of age drama.

This book was intense in opening up some of the issues Trans people face and the various emotions they go through in different stages. I’m really enlightened.

This book came at the right time- while I gradually try to learn more about non cis people. It is just one story but it is a starting point. A short and empathetic read.

a short, sweet, well-written story about the author's journey of love and transition. having the author narrate the audiobook escalates the reading experience it makes it feel way more personal and made me much more emotional than I would have been just picking up the physical book.
