The writer is not the most apt or enthralling storyteller, but she doesn't have to be. She revealed the raw truth of many horrific things in these pages and I admire her bravery. I felt her pain and her healing throughout the book, and the message that religion can still be there for you after you were exploited in its name is powerful. Overall, this is a powerful story of breaking and healing.
