This read was cute just like the first book. It has a wonderful holiday setting. The characters are a bit bland and the storyline is predictable. It was a decent read though.
Loved this book. Great characters and setting.
Shelter Springs is a great setting, enjoyed being back there and meeting not only new characters but others from the previous book.

The December Market focuses on the romance between Amanda, community backbone/business owner and firefighter/paramedic/single father Rafe. Both have survived tragedy and neither are looking for love, but Rafeโs son Isaac and the magic of Christmas conspire to get them together.
Unfortunately I didnโt feel any chemistry between the two characters so I never got invested in the story. I was far more interested in the budding romance between their grandparents. Itโs a fine, low stakes story, perhaps just right for the busy holiday season.
Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing | Canary Street Press for an eARC. Opinions are my own.

The synopsis leads the reader to believe that both Amanda and Rafe didn't want their grandparents together, but that is not the truth. It was just Amanda. Rafe didn't really care.

Really wanted to like this book. It's the type of story I used to adore at this time of year. Something about it just fell short. Everyone is trying too hard. I like the competence in novels like this but our main characters are good at everything and SO involved in every aspect of the community. It's tiring. Didn't finish.

Yes, I know itโs February, and here I am reading a book called The December Market. ๐ But this past December I read the first book in this series (Christmas at the Shelter Inn), and I absolutely loved it. I didnโt want to wait a year to read the next book, so yep, here I am, reading a Christmas book in February. ๐๐ I didnโt like this book quite as much as the first one, but it was still enjoyable, continuing the story of these characters and the Christkindlmarkt (German Christmas market) tradition, and keeping up those sweet, romantic, holiday feelings. I really love how this author does romance without the graphic, over-the-stop steaminess. Very tasteful. I give this book four Christmas trees. ๐๐๐๐
