Great story line. Kept my interest. I truly enjoyed how the main characters shift. Good read for real.

Carl Weber has a very vivid imagination. This book was filled with craziness, lol. A great read when you're in the mood for escapism. I always look forward to his crazy tales. There is some predictable plot twists, but enjoyable none the less.

I really enjoyed this book. I listened to the audiobook. This book kept me engaged from cd 1 to cd 14. I will definitely read the entire series. Coco, Tammy, Isis, and Nikki were interesting characters with enough drama to make it worth your time. Love, lust, lies, sex, drama, etc. it was all in this book. I highly recommend this book. Great job Carl Weber. I am a new fan.

OMG...this book was wild! LOL..but alot of the story had me thinking about relationships and what adding a 3rd person in your bed may do to your relationship....good or bad...who wants to open that pandoras box? Not me!!!

This book was hilarious and a fun read. It follows the lives of four women in a book club for big girls. It really was more about their dysfunctional relationships than anything to do with their book club.
I laughed many times reading this.
I’m a fan of this author

Favorite Quote: "I want to be with you, Coco, not just f**k you."~ Mac

Whenever I start to read a book that is similar in style of Terry McMillan's "Waiting to Exhale" I get nervous that it won't live up to be the same. However "Something on the Side" did a decent job honestly. I enjoyed it and never thought my favorite characters would be Coco and Nikki, I will say that Tammy and Egypt got on my very last nerve though. I will check out more of Carl's books and I'm happy that he wrote about full figured women. I was a little nervous reading a book about women written by a man because all of the women did have some very rough stories and I was just waiting for one sista to be happy. However there are women who exist just like the women in the book, I'm just not use to most of their lifestyles but a few of them did stick with me like Coco and Nikki. Definitely a page turner that will work your last nerve lol.

I would have given the book 4 stars, but it contain so much sex and did not stay on the issues that could use work developing.

This book was an excellent read simply because I have friends who are like ach of the characters. It also showcases the issues that women who are married, engaged or are in a relationship, go through. I closely relate to Egypt who because she doesn't yet know what she really wants. She's picky and has a lot going for herself, but she's still single. I also relate to Isis because being in a relationship with someone for a long period of time and then finding out the whole relationship was a lie, is a bish.
I really got sucked in to the story and felt like I was a part of each one of them, or each one of them was a part of me. With Tammy, being in a relationship (I say relationship because I am not married and never have been) where your partner is not willing to please the way you need or want to be pleased, really hits home because I have been there too many times. Coco, sleeping around to get money and material things (though I never received such favors) is something I went through in college. Nikki, being with someone who is emotionally and mentally abusive and then turning around and being with someone who isn't who they say they are.
It's a whirlwind of emotions that I went through reading this book because I have lived each one of their lives. It is definitely a must read. I read it in one day and it's 500+ pages long.
