Favourite movie of all time, adapted from one of the best books. The best edition in my opinion, where the three stories are in one (which the author originally intended). 4.5/5.

I love Lord of The Rings.

Shocker.

I managed to make it through The Council of Elrond with little issue, but almost got bogged down to the point of quitting come the 100pg slog of "Describing how little there is on the way to Mordor, ft. Sam and Frodo"

LoTR is unparalleled for a reason, and that reason is the depth and width of it's fantastic worldbuilding and emotional depth. There are pointed moments of beautiful prose and speeches that make you feel like your heart is in a blender, Christ allegories to make you weep, and a fantastic burning core of goodness and hope. Maranatha.

It's perfect, as long as you can make it through all the hiking descriptions. (There is SO. MUCH. HIKING.)
