I didn't not find either of them particularly likeable.

Wow, wow, Wow.

Jacob and Emma did a stellar job with this narration.
I was close to tears several time from the poignant and heartfelt delivery alone.
The hurt, the pressure, and the blame placed on Hunter’s shoulders had my eyes welling up - I couldn’t help the tug on my heartstrings the words caused.

Hunter and Dekker definitely had enemies to lovers vibes, they fought hard but loved harder. Their chemistry was inescapable, their banter hilarious, the attraction and pull - almost magnetic.
Despite their reluctance and resistance to sharing their feelings with each other, they were there, in plain view for all to see.

Gah, SO MANY FEELS.

The epilogues were the icing on an already sumptuous cake.
And the tennis balls? Perfection.

I hope I can listen to more of this series, this book was amazing. One of my top reads for the year.

this book is a second chance romance book, and as much as i love that trope in theory, i always dread books with it, because a lot of times i just don't have enough patience. i would get frustrated waiting for the characters to work out their issues and start communicating with each other, which definitely happened with this book. the chemistry between the characters was good, but for the first half (possibly more) of the book it felt like the story and their relationship weren't going anywhere. one person would push and the other would pull and they would end up in the same place as they were before. however, things got better once the male protagonist hunter started opening up to the female protagonist dekker. his backstory was heartwrenching and i really felt for him. i loved how dekker supported hunter and stood by him through it all without letting herself get walked all over. the romance ended up being very sweet and strong.

I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but def not all the feels. Hunter and his demons and how he over came them is just so... adult.

Emma Wilder and Jacob Morgan’s incredible narration transported me into K. Bromberg’s Play Hard world and I loved every emotionally charged minute of it. Dekker and Hunter’s connection was undeniable and their complicated journey had me shedding a tear or two. A story of loss and hope and characters you can’t help being invested in.
