Running away from an arranged marriage, Princess Victoria needs to find herself a royal husband in order to remain in power. But a one night stand with a stranger at the airport makes her desire to find true love stand out. But what happens when the one she loves is also a royal - can Prince Adrien make her believe in a HEA? Filled with lovable characters and a cute storyline this was a great read.

This book was a little different then this authors previous works. It's a little bit of a cross between a modern romance and a historical romance. It is a modern love story, except it's between royals so there is a lot of pop and circumstance surrounding it that gives it that Victorian vibe. Also some of the language used between the characters. For example, the Heroine (a soon to be queen) doesn't always understand the slang others use. (Readers will have not trouble understanding.) There aren't a lot of laughs to be had, but it isn't a heavy or deep read. The heat index is definitely on the rise. There is also a sort of mystery going on in the background. And while this has a happy ending and doesn't leave us with a cliffhanger, there are some situations (aside from the love story) that are left in a way they can continue or be expanded in future books. I enjoyed the story/plot of the book, and the sexiness of it, but there was't really anything extraordinary that popped out to me. It didn't have that pull that some books have that make it hard to put down. I did like the way the author used 'Breaking News' and 'Royal Gossip' articles as chapters, and gave us info without having to see it first hand. Added a little fun to the book. Due to the sexual content, I'd say this is suitable for mature readers.

*I received an ARC of this book.

Kim Karr’s surprise release of Washed Up Royal came just in time! Victoria and Aiden’s love story was truly enjoyable!

Victoria, or Tori, has an entire country watching her every move and now it’s time to step up and be Queen. But when Tori goes looking for a suitable husband to be King, little does she know that the instantaneous chemistry and a one night stand she had with a hot, sexy man was about to change her life!

Washed Up Royal was a light read with a fun storyline, great characters and some really HOT sex! I love the banter between Aiden and Tori, Tori’s friends and the surprise twists and turns that Kim Karr loves to throw our way!

I’ll be honest though, I had two issues with this book. In my opinion, was that there were SO many secondary characters involved, I was overwhelmed. I like how there was a list of characters at the end of the book, but I felt that would have worked better at the beginning of the book. Also, the Press POV was just not for me. I felt that it started to overtake the book.

All in all, I really did enjoy this book and look forward to the next one in the series!

It has been a while since I have read a Kim Karr book, and Washed Up Royal did not disappoint. There was sass. Passion. One sexy alpha. Tori is trying to get her life in order and boy does it take an interesting turn. I found it funny and witty as the banter between Tori and Adrien. I love how Tori stands up for herself as well. She is an amazing leading lady and I adored every moment with her! There are some interesting twists that happen that keep you totally engaged in the read too. This is a great read for the start of 2019 and I highly recommend it!!!

ARC received for an honest review

It is always a good day when a new Kim Karr story turns up on your kindle.

This surprise release was just the antidote I needed to all the Christmas and New Year celebrations. I was able to sit down and just enjoy a read, which hadn't happened for a few weeks.

Tori and Adrien's story was a cute, sexy, story of finding real love against the odds, when you have family and your country breathing down your back to make a suitable match.

Our lovelies are both a little lost at the moment, and find a bit of sense and companionship in each other. I love how they meet and how their stories came together.

There are a lot of secondary characters, that at first as the story is starting were a little confusing - however I think that is more me than the story - blogger burn out is a real thing, and I was in the middle of it. It is also setting up characters for the next books in this series too.

I just wanted Tori and Adrien to be together. But can they make it with all the outside pressures on them?

To find out, you will need to read for yourself.

Fun, flirty and fabulous, I cannnot wait to see where Ms Karr takes this series.

Please don't make me wait too long to find out!

Kim Karr created her own world for these characters, and in some ways it worked, but in other ways,I found it distracting. It was if I not only had to learn about Tori and Adrien, but also their pasts and the succession laws of their respective countries. Toss in the idea that there is something nefarious, possibly, trying to stop Tori and Adrien from finding happiness and, well, I was a little lost at the beginning. By the end, I actually enjoyed it and found the story to be rather cute, and lighthearted, with a great chemistry between the characters.

I thought the snippets that were from the royal gossip magazine were a little too much as well. I see why they were used, and I see the logic in them...but I think if the story were a little less complicated at the beginning, it would not have required quite so much in the way of exposition to keep all of us caught up on the happenings in the Vespa Isles.

While I did enjoy this title overall, there were definitely some areas that I wanted to be a little different.

I'd first like to tackle this cover... How freaking gorgeous is that guy? Seriously!! 😍😍 Let me know if there's a prince that looks like this out there somewhere because my stalking ass will be all over that. Okay, I'm kidding, but can you really blame me?

One thing you can always count on when reading a book from Kim Karr is sheer brilliance. She always gives us likable characters, an interesting plot, and enough drama to make the story just right. Tori was just a regular girl looking for her happily ever after. Okay, maybe not. She wasn't just a regular girl - she was Princess Victoria. And she wasn't necessarily looking for an HEA, but she did want to marry someone she loved. However, wants and needs don't always align and in order for her to officially take the crown and rule as Queen, she needed a royal husband.

Enter Prince Adrien, who isn't looking for a wife but he is looking for a way to escape from under the thumb of his ruling family. Wanting only one night to forget his troubles, he instantly connects with a bombshell at a bar. One night of passion and he can't forget about her... Luckily he won't have to 😉

There were a ton of side characters, a few of which I hope make appearances in books of their own, and some who need to be punished in the very near future. I guess time will tell. Regardless, I loved the easy connection between Tori and Adrien. There was very little angst and these two had an easy time of it for the most part. It was obvious how much they liked each other and how compatible they were. And their chemistry was parfait! If only every romance could be so sweet and simple.

This was just what I was looking for! I wanted a Royal romance where a princess was looking for love (usually they are all about princes) I enjoyed seeing Tori show her rebellious side out of the public eye and I lived while they met. Adrien was her perfect Prince with his own critics to silence. So happy with how this worked out and now I can’t wait to read the next one.
