I didn't hate this book, but it also wasn't really my favorite. I just feel like the world is so much like the world that she created for the Feed series, I can't shake it. It's just not as interesting in my opinion, and even has the weird incest vibe (Nathan and Sal, one is Dr. Cale's bio-son and the other was created using her DNA... still a little weird). I mean I like the characters, sorta. But most of this book felt like a waste of time because nothing really got accomplished. I mean it was interesting, I just felt like a lot of the parts were always necessary. I guess it's that middle book syndrome.

It's fascinating finally reading this series after having read Newsflesh several times, I can't help but compare them as I go.

I don't know, maybe because it was so long from reading the first book. I will not say bad, I like the book. It kept my attention and I wanted to know more. I think my favorite character is Fishy. But it was a little repetitive and I don't know. and the ending I think it could have been ended with a mystery in one case and not a to be continued, but that is just me. Now I do what to know how it ends so I will move on the last book.

Fantastic.... for a MIDDLE book. Darn it! How long must I wait for the conclusion?

You know when your just trying to live your best life and so you get a tapeworm introduced into your bowels to synthesize some things you need or want and then it migrates to your brain and takes you over in mind and body? No? Me neither. And thank goodness for that! In this series of books most people do and let me just say it does not end well for them.

The shit continues to hit the fan in volume two of this trilogy. And guess what? I am here for it. I was riveted for the whole 16 hr. 47 min. of this audiobook and am looking forward to listening to volume three in the near future.

I'm so in love with this series! Everything that could be right, is right. Except the cliffhanger... but that's why I'm starting the third book now!

I certainly enjoyed it, but was a bit disappointed in the cliffhanger. I'm also hoping that Sal grows a bit more of a backbone. Maybe it's cultural differences, or maybe its the tapeworm, but I would have punched waaay more folks.
