Filled with unlikable characters, the victim most of all. While this novella was engaging and has a pretty tidy resolution, I would have loved more pages to flesh out the dynamic between the wives. As it was, the ending felt a bit abrupt and hollow. I'm a big fan of Hepworth, but maybe not in this format.

A group of three ex wives have dinner at their ex-husbands restaurant on a regular basis. When he turns up dead in his freezer, everyone’s stories come out.

It’s was the father of a girl the husband had gotten in an accident with and made the second ex wife take the blame while she was with him.

I really enjoyed the back and fourth between the night of the murder and the police interviews. The ending was just lackluster to me.

This one was a pretty decent read. I enjoyed the premise of the story and how we got insight into mainly the female characters of the books. Each chapter was a different perspective which was nice to break it all up and to engage the reader. The police interviews were also a handy technique to keep the reader engaged and to set a different pace within the story.
The ending was not satisfying at all. It just kind of ended, in a predictable way, and gave the reader nothing to hook on to. There could have been better character development and more potential to set up a more satisfying ending with the characters.
Overall, it was a good short story, but definitely had potential for more engagement and interest from the reader.
