I loved it and disliked it at the same time. But given it is published in 1740 some of the gender commentary was actually probably progressive at the time. It is interesting to read the original story. Safe to say Disney took a lot of liberties.

This book has the most beautiful book cover ever. I'm so glad to say that I have finally read a classic and i'm glad it was beauty and the beast. Although I love the idea of reading a classic it was hard to understand what was going on half the time seeing as this was written in the 1700's the writing style is extremely different. But overall i'm glad that I now know the original story.
