A joy to read, but a lot more complicated than I expected. It was a bit unbelievably settled in the end, which isn't strange for a fairy tale, but it did lower my opinion of it. Overall, I enjoyed it, but would not count it among my favourites (even though Disney has made me a Beauty and the Beast fan).

the movie and general idea of the story was good but the actual reading of this book just wasn’t for me. it was very slow and i had to force myself to finish it. however lots of details and the whole plot was different from the disney movie.

Die wunderschöne Pop-Up Ausgabe des Klassikers #DieSchöneUndDasBiest, veröffentlicht vom @Coppenrath Verlag und geschrieben von Madame Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve im Jahr 1740.
In dieser Ausgabe darf man nicht die @Disney Adaption erwarten. Es ist das original Märchen von der Schönen und dem Biest.
Zum Buch: Wer meine #Story in den letzten Tagen verfolgt hat konnte einige Seiten bereits sehen; die #Illustrationen( von @minalima, den Grafikdesignern von Harry Potter!!!) und die interaktiven Elemente sind wunderschön und unterstreichen das Märchen sehr geschickt. Die Qualität ist perfekt, dieses Buch könnte man aus einer Schlossbibliothek nehmen und denken es gehört dahin. Überall im Buch und auf dem Cover finden sich goldene Verzierungen, was mich persönlich sehr anspricht.
Einziger Mangel, siehe letztes Bild, die Kanten waren nach ein paar malen lesen leicht abgenutzt, was ich persönlich sehr schade finde. Bei einem 30€ Buch erwartet man das nicht.

Zum Märchen: Nun man merkt gant klar: Diese Geschichte wurde vor der Zeit der #Frauenbewegung verfasst. Vor allem am Ende musste ich einige paar Male den Kopf schütteln. Als allzu negativ würde ich diesen Punkt allerdings nicht sehen. Das Märchen ist spannend und anders als die Disney Version. Besser würde ich nicht behaupten, aber alle male interessant und lesenswert. Eine Konfliktlösung empfand ich persönlich als zu weit hergeholt und nicht der Moral des Märchen entsprechend.
Ich würde dieses #Märchen aber definitiv wieder lesen und empfehle es jeden der Lust auf fantastische Illustrationen und eine #Liebesgeschichte hat.

This is definitely not like the Disney movie, they don't have much in common.
The story itself I felt ambiguous about, I did like the basic premise, but the exexution was not my taste and I did not like how Beauty was described.

Such a gorgeous book, I received it as a gift and I instantly fell in love. The added pictures, interactive pages make it a 5 star book in my opinion!
A short novel, that definitely fulfills part of my "reading more classics" goal. This is not a movie tie in, but the original story accompanied by beautiful artwork.
the original story is a little disappointing, disney really made it something special but it was still fun knowing the original story and the illustrations are just magnificent.
Livro de julho do clube, uma história escrita há mais de 50 anos. No caso, duas histórias com mais de 260 anos, as chamadas versão clássica e versão original de A bela e a fera. Como contos de fadas, mais importante que a história de amor é a mensagem moralizante e educativa para o público infantil e jovem. É interessante notar inclusive que as histórias divergem porque não passam exatamente a mesma mensagem e, mesmo baseadas na mesma tradição popular, foram apropriadas com intuitos diferentes. Essa tradição popular vem tanto das histórias de noivos animalescos, como Cupido e Psiquê quanto do caso real de um casamento entre um homem com hipertricose (cruelmente chamada de "síndrome do lobisomem") e a mais bela moça da corte. Há também referências à uma das peças de Shakespeare, Rei Lear, já que é a escolha modesta da filha mais virtuosa que leva aos infortúnios pelos quais passa o pai. Em ambas as versões, existe o contato da humanidade generosa de Bela com a dimensão fantástica e monstruosa da Fera, e esse contato pode ser interpretado de várias maneiras: para alguns, é a própria Bela que enxerga como monstruoso seu desejo por um homem, devido à sua castidade; para outros, a Fera se humaniza através do olhar de Bela, a única que viu o "monstro" como um ser humano dotado de bons sentimentos, e a Bela vence sua repulsa ao grotesco exterior para dar valor às virtudes do interior. A versão de Madame de Beaumont é a mais popular e mais sucinta, mas também a mais superficial e obviamente didática. Além disso, todos os personagens são muito mais unidimensionais, restritos à bondade absoluta ou à falta de caráter repugnante. No entanto, é compreensível o motivo pelo qual essa versão da história tenha se difundido mais, já que o romance entre os protagonistas é conduzido de maneira mais meiga. Já a novela ou romance de Madame de Villeneuve, que veio anteriormente, amplia muito mais o aspecto fantasioso no enredo, dando mais espaço para que as decisões tomadas pelas fadas afetem toda a história (desde o romance entre os dois até o passado, tanto da Bela quanto da Fera). Os personagens também são dotados de mais falhas, ainda que não deixem de ser bondosos. É muito mais impactante o horror e o medo que Bela sente no início pela Fera, assim como é mais longo o processo até que aceite se casar com ela. Além disso, a maldição é muito mais cruel: a Fera não foi só transformada fisicamente, como é impedida de transmitir carisma ou declarar sua inteligência. O príncipe na forma de Fera só consegue se exprimir em frases curtas e muito, muito simples, dificultando ainda mais a tarefa de conquistar a mocinha. Foi minha versão preferida e, mais do que a história, me interessa pelo contexto e pelas referências à tradição popular e literária.
