This version of Beauty and the Beast feels much more fulfilling than the Disney version we grew up with. Perhaps because it's the original version, more or less (a translation thereof).

Interesting backstory of beauty and the beast. A bit too easy in that every trial is successfully completed and no detail is ever forgotten. Happily ever after indeed.

I mean, Disney did wonders with this story.

The first half of this book is the story we all knew from the disney adaptation, but it gets so convulted in the 2nd half and unnecessarliy complicated, that I feel compelled to say that the Disney version is SO MUCH better. The one thing I loved about this is that I have the MinaLima edition, and that was an exquisite book to have.
