i'm not that into mysteries, but i wouldn't say this one was really a shocker. i could tell who was the main person behind all of the mysteries and I think it could have been trickier.
I really like the character of Del though.

I've read two other books by this same author that I really enjoyed, so I thought this one would be equally good. It was good, but not my favorite. I found the character of Del to be compelling, and I raced through the book, really wanting to know who the villain was...and then it was sort of anti-climactic. The motive just wasn't convincing enough for me. Meh.
Easy, quick and entertaining read. Part mystery- part ghost story- I actually didn't have the killer figured out but only because the person was talked about so little. Definitely a page turner. Thought the ending was a little too neatly wrapped up though.
Part mystery part ghost story.
This book was about secrets.
The two biggest secrets I wasn't expecting was the one regarding Opal's father. Katy did say several times how they looked similar but figured it to be a coincident. The other was Nicky and Zach being "lovers".
I did like Potato Girl/Del's character. I felt bad for her, being raped by her father and getting bullied at school (and the obvious that she was killed). The secrets Del carried herself were surprising.
Reading, I didn't find myself suspecting Zach to be the killer. At first I thought it was going to be Katy's mother, then happy is wasn't.
Wasn't a huge fan of the ending, was hoping Katy would stay and be with her mother, and Nicky.
Would I read another book by this author? Yes

I have really liked Jennifer McMahon's books thus far and this one was no different. The plot was definitely captivating and she was flawless in her use of a dual timeline. McMahon also has a flair for the eerie and in this book, it showed!

Good story. I was looking for something with a little creepy-factor to it and this did a decent job. It would have been better if I was able to read more then 1/2 - 1 chapter at a time.
Love Jennifer McMahon. Good solid mystery with just a touch of paranormal. Just enough to creep you out and keep you wondering who the killer is.
