Ok, I don't think this was as good as other books by this author but I still four-starred it because I couldn't put it down. I'm going to say I still loved it even though I recognized that it isn't as good (IMO). The worst thing for me, though, is that KA is seemingly lumping three MCs into one series now. Yes, I want books from all three MCs but I wish they weren't lumped together like this. Give them their own series and give us a full reading order to get the whole picture - just like with Rock Chicks, Colorado Mountain, Chaos, etc...

I am super happy that the author didn't make societal issues as big a part of this book as she has in some of her other recent releases. While I think it is important to recognize these things, and since KA has such an obviously large platform it is important for her to speak out about the things she believes in, I read these books to get away from the real world. So, seeing less in this story was great.

I am also super glad that Resurrection is getting their time and their chance. What they did, beating Rosalie, was awful, but it was fiction. However, even in real life, everyone deserves second chances. I can't wait for more...

Kristen Ashley always, always gives me exactly what I need when I pick up and read one of her books. When I read this, I needed strong love, a little bit of drama, some action, and some very strong friendships. And that's, of course, what I got!

3.5 In a word: disappointing. I didn’t find Hellen to be a likable heroine and the lecturing at the reader was amped up in this book which was unpleasant.

Update: second read through same response: meh

Kristen Ashley is at her best when her books are a good mix of plot, romance, angst, spice and humor, with a good dose of overprotective alpha MMC. This book fell flat. The central couple, Hellen and "Core" are likable and engaging enough, but their story was a little meh.

It felt like a melange of storylines, any one of which could have made a good book if fully developed on their own, but were half-baked and thrown together into something that was ultimately a little unsatisfying. I didn't care about the "Greeks" plot (subplot?), which was resolved in the first half, didn't really involve Hellen directly, and the character it did involve turned out to be a real shit. It was clearly a device to bring the two main characters together, but after it did its job, it was just sort of thrown away.

There were good moments. Core has some beautifully romantic lines and Hellen is strong and relatable. His backstory is really interesting and I wish Kristin had spent more time digging in and developing it. The spice was terrific; I love that she brings in dominance without making it a novelty.

It's likely not one of the books I'll re-read. I found it just a little too all over the place.
