i kind of always felt like i was missing something while reading this. it was just sort of all over the place. everything just happened and there was no real explanation. for example: the fmc is adamant that she doesn’t trust the mmc and she’s going to find a way to stop their marriage. but then she just gives up and accepts it? this fmc that’s suppose to be madly independent and doesn’t stop until she gets what she wants? and there’s no real reason for why. she starts to fall for him, but there’s no real reason why she should? there’s just no “aha!” moment. this also ends on a cliffhanger with two books following it, only one being out which was slightly annoying.
also sometimes the dialogue was just so bad and embarrassing and dry. it drove me nuts. you can not convince me this man would use the term “roasted” and say sexually explicit things in front of her sister and step mother

I was immediately hooked on Gwen and Atticus from the start. The chemistry between them was instant and red hot. They begin their whirlwind romance when they enter into an arranged marriage to help out her father’s business. Gwen is feisty and challenges Atticus every chance she gets which leads to some great banter between them. I loved watching these two fall in love and bring out the better in each other. The story will pull you in, make you swoon and the spice will have you fanning yourself. It would not be a Nana book if she didn’t hit you with a cliffhanger that you don’t see coming and leaves you anticipating the next book. I’m in desperate need for The Acquisition.
booktok burns me again ... I rarely DNF books (I just like to see where it goes) but this one ended in quite a big cliffhanger and I'm not even considering reading book 2.
Did I stay up till 2 am finishing this book yes yes I did but it was worth it
This is a must-read for fans of sizzling billionaire romances, particularly those who enjoy the thrill of enemies-to-lovers stories, alpha males, and the forbidden allure of arranged marriages, as this steamy and suspenseful tale promises to deliver a deliciously intense and passionate ride.
"Billionaire Atticus Price wants my father's struggling empire. Even worse, he wants me. Immediately. Irrevocably. He isn't a man who accepts no for an answer. This is a hostile takeover, and somehow I’ve become the price.
I'll protect the people in my father's company, even as my father sells it to the highest bidder--along with me. That doesn't mean I'll be the meek bride he expects. It's a sensual battle of wills. He's the king of the boardroom, and he'll make me his queen. At any cost. Falling for him is a weakness I can't afford."
I really enjoyed the plot of this book, I felt for the MC trying to save her company even though her father was horrendous. The story was good, but the smut was better. (That desk scene though.)
Unfortunately this book lost a couple of stars because I am not a fan of the insta love trope.
If what you're looking for is billionaire romance and workplace smut, this is the book for you.

Bit inappropriate to constantly be talking about your sexual endeavours with your 18 year old sister. Or maybe that’s just me.
I will read the rest because I need to know if this cliffhanger is worth it but for some reason I have a feeling it won’t be.

Another booktok rec. It was giving me Crossfire vibes but not as good – that said, I’m immediately starting the second one so maybe my option will change.
this book started strong in my opinion with it having some good tropes but then it became progressively boring as the book went on. I kind of felt the chemistry between the main characters but I didn’t believe in them 100%. I did like the fmc’s devotion to her company and her employees! Overall, this was an okay book for me:)
