A gut wrenching book that makes you feel so many emotions all at once. All of the characters are so real and have such ambitions you can’t help but root for. A lot of them have bittersweet ends but at least Ouyang is finally free from his shackles and Zhu got her goal. I’m never reading books from Bella again I will never recover from this…

Que dire …. Il se passe tant de bouleversements, tant d’émotions qui déferlent !!! Franchement c’est une belle fin, avec des personnages complexes et pour certains d’entre eux, attachants.

This one felt a lot darker and less hopeful. Mostly sad and a lot of realizing that getting what you want is sometimes bad. The betrayals hit super deep.
Best parts are obviously Zhu and her relationships. I love Ma and all her gentleness, and Ouyang, and his everything.
A lot of things in this books could be summed up as "wow, turns out patriarchy really fucks people up!"
I really loved this series but I'm glad it's over 😅
