This book was looking to be a great first step, from a historical standpoint - until the author mentioned the Burning Times.
From a 'practice' point of view, the information also started out on the 'good' end, but quickly turned sour once discussions of sexuality and fertility came in to play.

"Some witches believe that you shouldn’t cast a spell if it interferes with someone’s free will. I don’t follow this rule. Most magic manipulates free will at some level. As I’ve said before, you are the witch and you have the power to choose what’s right for your magic practice."
DNF @ 25% because I am not comfortable with that.

Part 1 is a fantastic introduction to new witches, emphasising no specific path but providing the perfect first steps for a beginner witch. Part 2 is a fabulous collection of spells of all kinds which will appeal to both beginner and advanced witches alike.
I listened to the audiobook which was great for part 1 but not ideal for conveying the spells in part 2. I will be buying a physical copy as I do want to use some of the spells. That being said, the narrator was charismatic and entertaining, making the listening incredibly fun and engaging.
