Thanks to Macmillan Audio for this free audiobook! 2.75 if I did that so I guess we’re rounding up to 3. I’m so disappointed this didn’t work for me! It reminded me of The Leftovers and Blue Sisters (one of which I DNFed and the other I gave 3 stars lol). After loving Our Wives Under the Sea, I was excited for this one but maybe I expected more similarities and that’s my bad. I wanted more horror and more, just, stuff… the last like 15 minutes of this audio were what I would’ve wanted out of the whole book. I wanted more about the mom(s), and wait what did the dad have to do with anything? The ending actual frustrated me because it was good but then left me with more questions and then it ended abruptly… Armfield is a good writer so I was still entertained enough to finish, but dang was this just not for me.

It’s well written but I found it hard to care about the characters unlike Our Wives

I picked this up because i loved Our Wives Under the Sea but this one did not do it for me

I really wanted to love this but reading this was a chore for me. The world and architecture was very interesting but almost nothing happened with if? I found the sisters to be very annoying. I didn't understand the almost cult like plot points that didn't lead to anything?

DNF. I’ve been a third of the way through this book for a few weeks and I just never want to pick it up. It’s so dreary (which is the point I know), but also boring. I loved Our Wives Under the Sea so this was a big disappointment.
