I generally enjoy Plum and her peeps but the lack of concern over the kidnapping is difficult to take, for example, when Stephanie returns without the victim, a close colleague btw, Lula’s response is “this is a freaking downer”. A downer? It’s horrible! Could we care a little more?

And I know these books aren’t meant to be taken seriously but how the heck is Rex still alive, the average life span of a hamster is 2-3 years so even at the far side of this, Rex is breaking some records.

I read these because it’s nice to see what’s new with Plum and her peeps but not the stories are feeling tired and repetitive. The Plum-Morelli-Ranger love triangle feels old and worn out. The book feels like Evanovich has painted herself into a corner.
