“My philosophy is aim high and fail big.” (S)

“I’m always amazed at how you never destroy my cars the same way twice. This one is especially clever the way it’s impaled on the tree.” (R)

This one I only read the one time; when it first came out and I bought it. So this was my first time listening to it, and I’m pretty confident I missed a lot of things lol.

Stephanie is on a mission to find and save Connie. And then Vinnie is kidnapped; everyone tries to decide if he’s even worth saving lol. Which is funny because the last time he was held hostage (well, the first time maybe, since he was taken by the deli dumpster ppl; they returned him on their own though) Connie and Stephanie went guns blazing to find and save his dumbass.

I’m not sure how Stephanie still knows almost nothing about her gun; I can think of at least 5x she goes to the range with Ranger or is shown things by him or his minions. And unless it’s Grandma Mazur’s gun, I just can’t see the kick being enough to smash yourself in the face… at least a couple of times.

As usual Stephanie and Co. get a 5 from me. If I didn’t love them I wouldn’t read them. Some books may be better than others but overall you know what you’re getting, you know the people bc you been reading them for years. The ppl who don’t like them and yet keep reading them must not realize just how many books are out there just waiting to be read. And the “just pick one (Morelli or Joe) already!” people reaaaalllyyy ought to call their therapist.

We stan Janet and Stephanie.

I have loved Stephanie Plum for many years but this is the first book of hers I've listened to, and I've not picked up one of her books in years either. Still a joyful romp with all the usual regulars!

I can now say I have read the entire series. Whew! This one was one of my favorites. I feel like I've seen some maturity in the characters. There's been some "words of wisdom" sprinkled in. Stephanie is coming into her own (or she's just really, really lucky). So now I wait for the next installment.
