Absolutely stunning piece,
Can surely say that it broke my heart, Maggie's struggles felt like a tunnel and towards the end i saw a light but George Elliot shut the door and took the light out.
I am so glad that she choose Tom out of all three, despite her crying for most of the time in the novel she is so incredibly strong and beautiful.

The Mill on the Floss covers many years in the lives of siblings Maggie and Tom Tulliver. While very close, these siblings are complete opposites when it comes to their personalities. Maggie is a strong-willed spitfire while Tom is more reserved. We follow Maggie as she falls in love with boys and the Tulliver parents go through their various highs and lows. I honestly wasn't that impressed with the story. It was very slow and ultimately dull. Props to the very good ending though. It was beautifully wrapped up.

How crazy the sexism was during that time and society. Glad some things have changed! Enjoyed Maggie and her spirited nature. Rather a grim ending, felt shocking and emotional but not abrupt.

It is one of those books which after they end, you don't know how to fucking live on your lives.
At this particular moment when I'm in so much pain, The Mill On The Floss is my favourite classic. In Maggie I see my very own needs, in Tom, my cold pride, and in Philip and Stephen perfect fictional dream men

Although this is my least favorite of Eliot's novels, it's still a solidly worthwhile read.
