Wraps up all the threads, goes through all kinds of madness. The Last Battle is worth its name, truly a battle to end all battles. And the ending must be written by Jordan rather than Sanderson it is just so distinctive.

As with the first time I read this book I am left conflicted at the end. I do think more should have died, and I wish there had been more of an epilogue. Rand just rode off into the sunset? There is something unsatisfying about it, especially after all that built to it.

Original review:

I don't really know how to feel right now. It wasn't really what I expected from talking to others who finished first.

Actually, mostly I'm mad about Egwene. Mad that she, alone of the mains, dies and isn't brought back in some way. Honestly I think I WANTED most of them to die; or none. It feels like a cop-out, I guess.

4.75 loved it! A wonderful ending to the series! The 5hr long battle scene is very well done. Love how it focuses o many different characters. I love the philosophy and religious influence in what Rand learns and speaks to the dark one about. Overall, a wonderful last book. Will miss it.

I started reading this series well over twenty years ago when I was a college student. Appropriately, I end it on my birthday, today. It has been a long and, at times, troubled journey but ultimately it was worth it. Many thanks to Brandon Sanderson for giving this series the ending it deserved -- sad but satisfying.

This was an excellent conclusion to the Wheel of Time series and wrapped up all the plot points with a neat little bow. There were many powerful moments throughout the entire book, but perhaps the best were Perrin’s face off with the slayer, Rand’s imprisonment of the Dark One, and, of course, Lan’s battle with Demondred.
This book was basically only the last battle and, while it dragged on a little longer than I would have liked in some parts, ultimately ended on a hopeful note and no burning questions. The deaths throughout the book were all well timed and meaningful, especially Egwene, and Faile and Perrin’s reunion was my favourite part of the book.
Overall, a good way to end such a long and poignant journey.
