This book completely submerged me in Austen as none of her other books did before. When I write now all I can hear is her voice in my head urging me to type words like urging and etc etc. A lot of my enjoyment of this book came from the security of already knowing the ending and that it was in general a happy one. I’m sure I would have fully given up both my sweet sisters for lost, one to sickness and the other to a silently broken heart, if I had not known to look forward to both of them being happily married and happily somewhat switched places in life and temper. I leave off one star for still managing to put me in an agony of suspense despite that knowledge haha. And I do wish the ending were a little longer. I’m sure (beginning)Marianne would agree with me when I say I love to be in raptures as long as I can be. I am sad to have to say goodbye to these two now, and happy that I am to know their story for the rest of my life. Hopefully after this I can stop writing as if I’m pretending I’m centuries old but I promise it is completely accidental and nothing else comes to mind now when my fingers hit the keyboard. Thx for reading :)

I loved this book when I first read it, and I loved Rosamund Pike’s narration.
