DNF.  I admit the writing is good, and I could’ve been ok with the spice (even though to me spice is like reading someone’s tax return).  However, beyond that this book just goes nowhere.  Fifty percent in and I didn’t see a main point and couldn’t relate to a single character.

Fun! I honestly had a hard time caring about the characters or the plot (as much as there was one, lol) and the philosophical conversation sections (Sissy/Dr. Robbins etc) dragged on a bit but damn I really enjoy Robbins’ writing style. Lots of highlights/annotations in this one.

The race/gender stuff is a little cringey but there is more nuance as you get further into the novel. Also definitely reads like women written by a man, but not as bad as some other pieces I’ve read about women that were written by men (especially considering when this piece was published).

Loved it just didn’t like the very end. Otherwise would be five stars.
