Flawless. That Portugese Man-o-War really had an insane impact on an entire generation of British schoolkids, huh.

I got hold of the audiobook from my local library as I was quite curious to see what this series was about as Alex Rider seems to be everywhere and even seems to have earned a TV deal.

The book is fast paced and once you get started, you want to see where the story goes, but, goodness me, what stereotypes of macho male and subservient or evil female are served in this book.

And the abuse Alex Rider goes through in order to become a super hero? is emotional, mental and physical abuse throughout the pages of this book and a new generation of defunct male that is incapable of love and relating is born.

A narrative that goes on the storyline that the only way to become better in being abused in every possible in order to better the abuser is no solution at all. It only leads to where we are now on this beautiful blue planet, with nature being destroyed, people in power demonstrating their selfishness throughout and relationships and society falling apart and mental illness soaring sky high.

I do not recommend this book.
