I can’t believe I put this off for so long!
This book has been sitting on my kindle for over a year, but I’ve never really been drawn to it. Randomly, this past weekend I felt like reading an alien romance. After starting, I devoured this book within the day! It’s an easy read with plenty of steam, though because it’s an inter-species romance it’s important to note that it’s slow burn.
If you enjoyed IPB you’re going to LOVE this book. I’m already looking for special editions so that I can have this series on my shelf.

Wife and I did a book swap. I gave her the Nobel Prize winning novel “Never Let Me Go”, and I got….this. It’s not as bad as the cover, concept, and first 100 or so pages make it seem, and if you can get pass allllllllll of that, plus several gratuitous sex scenes, there’s an interesting sci-fi history to uncover and nice relationship building I don’t often encounter in my normal fare. Cliffhanger finish, of course.

This was good. I don’t know if I’ll continue though. The world was intriguing, but I’m not sure it was explained to its full potential? Or rather the women’s back stories weren’t explained to their full potential. Gemma won’t be very memorable character for me.
I could not stand the MMC nor his dub/noncon treatment of the FMC.

This book was so good! I devoured it in just two or three days I couldn't stop because I always wanted to know what would happen next.
I wouldn't say it's a dark romance, but there was definitely an atmosphere in this book more conducive to that vibe, which I liked a lot. I also really loved that the story is set in a futuristic dystopian era, and the intrigue of what's happening on this planet (which continues in the other books).
