It was OK, I don't find the adventures that interesting though. Eustace is a great character and his growth saves the book for me.

This was actually so much better than I expected. It had much more of a classical adventure plot, with more and more new threats along the way and I quite enjoyed it. Points taken off for the fact, that a lot of conflict is resolved because Aslan shows up and (off screen) makes everything okay again. And I kind of wish it was longer. A lot of the dangers were very interesting concepts but because there were SO MANY of them in such a short book, they never got all the plot-time devoted to them I thought they deserved. Overall really good though! (But I miss my drama queen King Peter)

It feels wrong to mark any of the Narnia books less than 5 stars as they were a huge part of my childhood and I will always adore them.

This one just doesn’t hit the same way as The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe or Prince Caspian. I think having them on the boat takes away the magic of the world that is Narnia. But it is still a fantastic story and this series will always have a special place in my heart. ♥️🦁

Definitely my favorite book in the series so far!

I have a thing for pirate ships (or privateers), dragons, and ill-tempered characters who experience character growth (see Edmund in [b:The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe|100915|The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (Chronicles of Narnia, #1)|C.S. Lewis|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1353029077l/100915._SY75_.jpg|4790821] and Eustace in this book), so this was guaranteed to be a hit for me in troupes alone.
