My heart! This book was so needed and so healing.

Personally, I especially appreciated the essay/chapter on ableism in the spiritual and energy-healing communities. It validated a lot about how I experienced that community and made me feel less alone or like less of a failure by not being able to change it.

This book was too powerful for me to be able to give a coherent review right after finishing it. I will say that as a white disabled queer woman, I am immensely grateful to learn these stories, struggles, and wisdom from QTBIPOC disabled community leaders and visionaries. I think this is the most important book I have read in years.

Very insightful. I learned so much about Disability Justice. The writing style wasn’t my jam; it was repetitive, but still a very good book. If you’re interested in the intersections between disability, race, and trauma, this book is for you.

Essential reading. Some may say it isn't a comfortable introduction to Disability Justice but I think it's vital to experience that discomfort. As with learning more in any area of justice, putting current comfort levels over learning leads to further injustice, and (especially with something as temporary as being abled) is an enormous to everyone, currently disabled or not

A great perspective on disability justice and how/why to care for the most marginalized of us.

This was the second book I’ve read by Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha, and once again, they have exceeded my expectations. This book is like a love letter to the disability community. Full of wisdom, emotion, and compassion, Leah describes what it’s like to be disabled without leaving out the gritty details. This book was a hug for my disabled non-binary soul. I can’t wait to read more of Leah’s work.
