Premise of the story was what really made me want to read Everything You Ever Wanted. I loved the style of writing and the author really got me to be interested in an otherwise kind of boring protagonist.
Ending left me questioning although that was likely by design.

Reminds me to cherish the little things.

Creepy, compelling, and claustrophobic. I feel conflicted about my rating. Part of me wants to rate this higher, and another part of me is so horrified by what I just finished reading that I kind of hate it a bit. This weird book takes an extremely relatable portrayal of a young person struggling with the meaningless of over our insipid lives, and distorts it by introducing this sci-fi horror concept of a reality tv show set on an inhospitable alien planet. The result is a seriously bizarre and fascinating, yet disurbing read.

A haunting and reflective story. Sauma captures the listlessness and mundane quality of depression and what it does to people. Do not read this book if you cannot handle the “not knowing”.

So the second half this book saved it entirely. I didn’t hate it at all, but I also wasn’t head over heels in love with it. The writing was good and the story was really interesting, I just have an aversion to detached characters? I think if the first half was slightly different I would’ve loved this
