I would describe this one as sweet. Everything is in a perfect little British bow. Quick and easy read. Very light and nice for the beach or something. I was a little bored by it, since it seemed like all conflict resolved almost immediately after it arose.

What a lovely story of how so many peoples' lives are changed, in both big and small ways, by Nightingale Books, the little Bookshop in the town of Peasebrook. When Julius Nightingale passes away, his daughter Emelia comes back home and temporarily takes over his bookshop. Everyone in town stops by to make sure Emelia knows how much her father and his bookshop meant to them.

In the vein of "Love Actually" with the setting being a bookshop. The characters are all connected through the shop. A nice, light, romantic story.

I really enjoyed this read. It’s warm and cozy with wonderful descriptions that make you feel as though you’re right there in their little village taking in all the sights, smells, tastes, and feelings. Multiple love stories are interwoven throughout - which was a little difficult to keep track of at first, but well-paced as the book went on. It’s neat how everyone is connected to this little shop and its owners. Pretty predictable overall, but heartwarming. I normally read books just once, but I’d give this one another read!

Tender English novel about a bookshop passing from father to daughter. "Appeals to those who find bliss in bookstores and libraries."

This was such a sweet story, with a lot of characters and a lot of situations happening at the same time. I admit, I was a little confused and overwhelmed in the beginning, but once everything started falling into place and you remember who is who, it was a very cute read.

It’s always been a dream of mine to own a bookstore in a Hallmark Christmas town - this read has similar vibes. Emilia is dealing with the unexpected passing of her father while taking over the family business, Nightingale Books. An incredibly cozy read, that made me want to climb right into the pages!

I read this for book club. I do not usually read romance, but I enjoyed tis one. It was undemanding for the busy Christmas period. It read like a romcom film and most of the characters happily paired off by the end, all wrapped up in a Christmas bow. Th town and the bookshop were idyllic, I wish I lived there. I enjoyed the numerous bookish references and came away with several booklists. I am certainly not as well read as I thought I was. I will give it a 7 and a thumbs up in book club. What's not to like.
