★★★★☆ (4,5)
This was a very calming and soothing read. I haven't yet read the first book (The Cat Who Saved Books), but I was really in the mood for a book like this. I was attracted by the cover, and I was in the mood for a book that isn't so heavy on the plot and just has some calming vibes, maybe something I can learn from, or just relax by and feel better because of it. And this book was exactly that.
It doesn't have much plot or drama, but it doesn't always have to be. I think the elements of what this book already provides on its own are already enough as is. I believe this is a book to be savoured and enjoyed for what it is and not wish for it to be more, just like any other healing fiction books.
The book itself is best described by its feelings rather than its plot, and it follows the growth of the fmc and the circumstances she has dealt with. And together with the talking cat, she finds a way forward, while also saving books along the way. But this is also a book about books. It talks a lot about the importance of books, with many book references and book titles sprinkled throughout.
The story gave me a lot of Ghibli vibes. Tbh, I was reading in the hammock, on a hot summer's day, and this book was just so calming, and it consumed my entire day without me even realising it. I actually dozed off because I was feeling so comfy, and the story just had a very healing and soothing effect on me. It might be a short book, but it's so worth reading! ₍^. .^₎⟆

A very cute book about books - such an easy read ❤️ Great book to read in-between some 'harder' fantasy books !

A sweet and emotional tale about the importance of books. The main character was fun, and I liked her. The cat is epic! The explanations are simple, and the writing is easy to understand! This is one of the books you can gift to people who have just started reading, and they will love it! But it's also a good reminder for the more experienced reader!

At first I thought this one was feeling a little too similar to the first one but about halfway through I felt the difference and liked the new theming and villain.
