I couldn't get attached to Arden, and it was so repetitive. You tell me that Evelyn and Arden are soulmates, but I want to see it and feel it.

“If a hero is someone who will give up love to save the world, then a villain is the reverse. Someone who will give up the world to save love.”

This was such a unique story. I was not expecting a twist and that is very new for me. I mean, I wasn’t completely caught off guard, but how it played out was fascinating. Usually I am not shocked by the trajectory of a book so it was fun to sink into a story’s unexpectedness, even if it was an interesting way to go. 

I loved the love story woven throughout.

What would you do if you knew “…the person I loved most in the world was the person who would ultimately destroy me”? How would that alter how you lived and loved? What would you do if you were forced to choose between being a hero or a villain? Especially when the choices mean losing something. 

This book has a lot of time jumps, so heads up if that is something you like to be aware of.
