Oh this was better. So better!

Won't say much, just one thing - my best part about the romance portion of the book is that the love story isn't with the first make interest to be introduced. And not even just emotions turned on or off. It was attraction to one, friendship with other with one sided emotions, and enemies to apathetic-to-each-other to sort-of-friends to lovers as the end game. This is my favourite theme of the book.

The second installment does NOT disappoint!!

What a wild ride this story has been so far. Sometimes the second book in a series can be a let down, but that is NOT the case here.

The plot thickens. The twists and turns keep coming with no warning. At no point is it ever clear who Catori should trust, and I’ve found myself second guessing right alongside her. I’m someone that routinely looks for spoilers and skims the last chapters, and this time I am just enjoying the ride and seeing how it plays out. I’ve still felt a few times that she was too quick to just forgive and forget things like killing someone she loved or yelling at her that she’s the reason Blake killed himself, particularly when there was no remorse, but it is what it is.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series so far, and definitely wish I hadn’t slept on it as long as I had.

What was with the ending? Not a cliffhanger, but I felt like I was just left hanging. Ace kisses her and then we’re done.

I really wish we had more one what was up with Cruz. Lily seems to be running that relationship and I can’t understand what the deal is with them. I guess I should chalk up his brief relationship with Cat as a way to meet Ace, but I can’t seem to let it go. Maybe we’ll get an explanation in the last book.

This book went fast and it wasn’t as exciting, but still enjoyable.

Wow, so these books just get better and better!

How have I not read them before?

***Okay, spoilers ahead!***

I was really starting to like Ace but was afraid that he wouldn’t be endgame but now it feels like that it can’t be anyone else so I’m invested! He’s funny and lovable(even though he’s blond

I won’t give any spoilers but I do have to say- I have NEVER in my life been so engrossed in a story. In most series, you basically know what’s going to happen by the middle of the first book. This series had me guessing up until the very end. Cleverly written with relatable characters that you can’t help but love or well hate some of them but then love them again. I read all three within three days.. like didn’t sleep- read while I fixed my hair, while I ate and (don’t tell anyone) even at two social gatherings. I became so emotionally attached to the characters and fell in love with Cat!! I’m pretty sad now that it’s over.. definitely one of my top three favorite series.

I am officially obsessed with this series.

First of all, Cat is such a bad ass. She has such a fiery personality and I totally understand all of her choices and her reactions. I find some firey female protagonists annoying but Cat isn't at all.
I love the other characters. Especially Ace. I always thought they had a good chemistry in book one and I liked seeing this develop in book two. I really want to see more from Lilly too. I think she's a dynamic character and I'm interested in how invested she is with Cruz when he clearly doesn't feel the same.
I also am fascinated by the world they are in and as more hunters wake, the impact this has on everyone.
I flew through this and I am so happy that I am now straight onto book three!
I NEED MORE.

There was a ton to shift through in this book and I did enjoy it because I was constantly wondering what certain things meant and who was connected to who. I do like that we get more history on both sides with the fae and the hunters. Also the love interest changed and I was not expecting that at all. I do enjoy Ace but again I’m wary and need to get to know him more. Overall really enjoyed this and definitely want to know what’s going to happen in the next book!!

A cool and magical story

WARNING: POTENTIAL SPOILERS FOR THE PREVIOUS BOOK IN THE NEXT PARAGRAPH
Ever since Faeries showed up at Rowan, and by extension in Cat's life, things have become complicated for her. The book Cat received is far more than myths and legends, it's secrets and truths. Torn between the two parts of her, she can't seem to know who to trust, who to believe. Caught in the middle of Faeries and Hunters, Cat doesn't want to choose a side, even if her heart is leaning towards one...

I didn't really like the first book in this series but was intrigued enough to keep going. I don't regret that choice, as this sequel was way better in my opinion. While Cat seemed childish and focused on romance instead of all the horrible things happening in the previous book, she finally caught up in this one and I was delighted to see that. I feel like she really evolved and it made me like her a bit more. I quite enjoyed the romantic tension that added to how difficult it was for Cat to understand what each "species" want and stand for. Her mind was influenced by her heart in a way, and I liked the added difficulty. Although some things seemed a bit long or trivial at certain moments, it didn't prevent me from enjoying the book thoroughly. The writing is quite pleasant, although sometimes a bit simple still, but it was easy to read and addictive. I quite like the world with the different legends and magical aspects and I'm eager to discover even more in the next book. Overall, this sequel convinced me to keep reading the series and I'm glad to have discovered it!

I'd recommend for those who like YA fantasy romance with tension and magic!
