One of the first long comics I read, and I still feel it somewhere in my flesh

Any asshole from my country that has ever tweeted or posted a status update on FaceBook saying something along the lines of " _____ is karma for Pearl Harbor" should read this book.

You may argue that Japan was absolutely brutal towards its POWs and enemies, as seen in their ill treatment of Chinese and Koreans, the Rape of Nanking, and even their downplaying of the use of "comfort women" by their soldiers during WWII. Now that matters, but this story right here proves to you that not everyone was on board with Japan's war-mongering, "ride until the wheels fall off" tactics that this resource-starved, brainwashed cult-of-personality oriented country threw itself into. You just don't hear about it because well, usually you shut those dissenters up. I'm surprised Gen's father was killed for his pacifism. It's basically how the Quakers were treated over here in the US. Huh, perhaps we aren't all so different (~o_o)~

Una historia muy dura que relata un pasado con todo detalle. A pesar de ser un manga europeizado no pierde su estilo a la hora de contar la historia. ¿Qué pasará en los siguientes tomos con Gen?
