Rachel Martin macht ihren Doktor in Musiktherapie und arbeitet nebenher mit ihrer besten Freundin Ava in einer angesagten Bar in Brooklyn. Als Avas verlogener Exfreund das Lokal betritt, sieht Rachel rot und sagt dem Fremden gründlich die Meinung. Leider stellt sich heraus, dass sie den falschen attraktiven Mann vor allen Gästen anfährt. Wie peinlich! Doch es kommt noch schlimmer. Am nächsten Tag betritt ihr neuer Professor und Doktorvater, der berüchtigte und brillante Caine West, den Hörsaal – und es ist niemand anders als der gutaussehende Mann aus der Bar....
Vi Keeland hat mich auch mit diesem Buch wieder stark von ihrem Können überzeugt. Der Schreibstil war wie bei jedem ihrer Bücher flüssig und locker. Auch die Idee hinter der Geschichte finde ich grandios und sie wurde auch sehr gut umgesetzt. Man muss bei diesem Buh definitiv nicht lange auf die beiden Hauptcharaktere warten. Rachel und Mister West treffen sich schon im ersten Kapitel des Buches. Das Treffen ist jedoch kein gewöhnliches, denn Rachel verwechselt ihn mit dem Ex-Freund ihrer Freundin. Das nächste Treffen der 2 lässt auch nicht lange auf sich warten und schon ist man mitten im Geschehen.
Rachel fand ich schon von Anfang an wirklich toll. Sie steht ihrer Freundin bei allem zur Seite, auch wenn sie sich dadurch keine Freunde macht. Mister West konnte mich aber leider erst ein paar Kapitel später überzeugen und von da an war ich begeistert von ihm. Zwischen den Kapiteln lernt man immer mehr über ihn und seine Vergangenheit, was mir sehr gefallen hat. Außerdem hat es mir wirklich sehr gut gefallen das sich die Beziehung der 2 langsam entwickelt hat und nicht schon in den ersten Kapiteln den Höhepunkt erreicht hat. Auch die Nebencharaktere Ava und Charlie fand ich wirklich gelungen. Ich kann dieses Buch jedem empfehlen.

Vi Keeland is one of my favorite authors. She writes great love stories and I just like how easily they read and how they always have a deeper message.
This one was also really great but not in my top favorites.
Student/teacher romances are a guilty pleasure for me so I was really excited to read this book. There wasn't enough of that trope in the book for my taste but from what we got it was great.
Rachel was a good main character. She was likeable and easy going.
Cain was also really great. I liked him because he cared for Rachel deeply.
Also I loved how he involved music in their relationship.
The flashbacks were weird at first because I am not a religious person at all and I thought it would bother me but it didn’t because it wasn't forced on the reader.
I just thought that the whole conflict was unnecessary because there wasn't really anything to be stressed or mad about. It could have been resolved in one conversation.
The romance was really cute actually. And the whole book was cute, it just wasn't my favorite by Vi.

#UnErrorMaravilloso de Vi Keeland. Me ha gustado mucho la historia de Rachel y Caine, historia de superación y segundas oportunidades. Tiene mucho más de lo que indica la sinopsis y desde luego nada que ver con lo que puede indicar la portada

Okay I wanted smut, got smut. Enjoyed the dynamic here and the angst really hit the spot.

I don’t know what was different about this book for me, but it didn’t hit me like most by this author. Until the end, anyways. So, I liked it…I didn’t love it. Solid read, though.

I definitely think this is one of Vi’s best novels. (That I’ve read so far)
The story line flowed and it was a good storyline to follow.
Sometimes the oversharing in some of her other novels have made me cringe a little, but I really do think that the balance was perfect in this book.
