Definitely my favourite of the series so far! I'm always here for ultra-feminie girls in romance, so I've been loving Eva since book one and this book delivered on her story SO well.

Eva still believes in that one true, life-changing love story (and she's convinced she will get hers! It's just...been some time). And then there's Lucas who wouldn't want to recognize new love after his wife's death if it spat him in the face. Snowed in together for Christmas (and after trying to desperately set the other person up with someone else) they realize that maybe the other person is exactly the one they were looking for.

As a fellow girly girl who also still believes in love despite what she's experienced, I could see myself in Eva so much and at times I really felt like reading a diary. Lucas and Eva try everything to ignore the obvious feelings between them — because there's no way they'll work out, right? Wrong 🤫 It was a struggle at times (especially from Luca's side) but that just made the conclusion all the sweeter.

What I really appreciated was that Eva just didn't take Lucas' shit. There's so many (!!) women in romance novels who seem to take the side of the reader in their own romances — oh, he's just misunderstood! It's okay that he's an asshole! — when I sincerely hope that is not how y'all would actually act irl. When Luca lashes out, Eva leaves. Good for her. And good on him for groveling and making things alright again <3

(Also this was surprisingly spicy? So hot, oh god)
