A difficult read for someone not fully immersed in the genre it's stated to help form.

I could appreciate the themes but found the character's lacking in terms of personality and distinctiveness, which took away from my enjoyment and ability to really get into the story. If character's names had been randomly swapped with each other at different points in the story I wouldn't have noticed because they all blend together anyway.

That being said, it's a quick read and worth a go if you think you might find it an interesting read.

This is my second time through this incredible story and I honestly wanted to read it again when I was finished. Don't mistake this for run of the mill genre fiction. This is literature. I've talked to several people online who expected a breezy sci-fi story only to be put off by the stream of conscious writing style. This puppy is DENSE. It's also the granddaddy of cyberpunk.

As far as cyberpunk goes, I don't think anything in that genre has surpassed this one. So much about this book SHOULDN'T work but somehow does. Once you realize what's actually going on in the third act you may find yourself awe struck. I'm actually surprised that the person that spear headed this genre is maybe the only one to get creative on such a level. It's really weird how many other Cyberpunk novels are essentially just Noir Sci-Fi novels with zero frills.

I'm actually currently reading the sequel to this right now. It's actually what's stopping me from jumping right back into this. This is a must read piece of literature. Anyone who dislikes it should be immediately dismissed :)

I thought this book was just fine. I can see why its a classic and a cult hit. Its a little dated but I'm happy I read it to experience the pioneer of cyperpunk.

Quite a wild ride from start to the finish. It's absolutely stunning to see how developed of an idea of cyberpunk William Gibson 40 years ago had - MIND BLOWING! It's also super funny seeing quite a few similarities between Neuromancer and Cyberpunk 2077, inspirations.

Author writes in a quite extraordinary way, in which he describes situations and actions in a manor of glimpses/flashes - it can be  sometimes quite difficult to follow what's hapenning, however it's a nice experience seeing a different perspective on writing.
