Read for the 52 Book Club Challenge: Prompt#39- An Enemies-To-Lovers Plot

Loved every part of this book and I'm not even a fan of fantasy. Perfect!

Another book recommended by a friend, and a genre I don’t read often, fantasy. I will admit that I skimmed certain pages and scenes but on the whole I enjoyed this book very much. Based on legends and occasionally reading like a video game, there are several strong heroines and a strong friendship. The magic is fun and has consequences. And ultimately the themes relate to a sense of home/rootedness, humanity, and growth: “she had remembered the wrong things, and forgotten too much. She’d remembered how to kill and how to hate, and she had forgotten how to grow” (419).

i loved this story I loved the language of the forest and I loved the message -- revenge and war do not accomplish what you think they will.

J’aime énormément la magie crée par les mots de Naomi Novik. Une promenade en forêt, une intention, une image qui prend vie.

L’évolution de Kasia de la jeune promise à la Femme-Lige (coucou Ewilan) me plaît beaucoup.

This is a tough one. This book has so much to offer: good characters, good writing, a plot that goes on and on getting more complicated with every rise and fall, a cool magic system or two, surprise twists and turns. All of this I love, but I can't forgive the way a romance just happens between an abusive older man and a young woman who is entrusted to his care. A five-star book just became a three-star book.
