A good read. VERY skimpy on dialogue, though. More of a modern fairy tale than a generic fantasy novel. I would definitely recommend it, but I doubt I will ever re-read it.

Struggled to finish, and would have liked more about her magic.

Interesting story the constant repetition of the narrative was a bit annoying. A lot of stuff was just glazed over.

Y por libros como estos sigo esperando descubrir que tengo algún talento hermoso e innato que estaba por despertar

I have set out to reread Uprooted exactly zero times. However, it is now six - seven? - times I have said to myself, "I will just read this one part," and ended up rereading at least 80% of the not-exactly-short book. Given this track record, I think I can just say that this is my favorite book, that it is all the tropes of my childhood at their most lush and raw and sweet, practically overpowering in its richness. Not everyone will love it, but I can't recommend it enough.

I would give this masterpiece 100 stars if I could. It is sensational. The writing is lush and gorgeous, the world vibrant. The story kept me captivated from beginning to end. It’s been years since I read a fantasy book I wasn’t able to predict - and I didn’t see literally anything coming in this one. Neishka is a phenomenal main character, determined to remain true to herself and maintain her goodness. I cannot recommend this book enough - Uprooted has firmly cemented itself in the top 5 fantasy novels I’ve ever read.

I enjoyed the fact that the solution to the wood was solved with empathy rather than violence.
