Death Note depicts the story of Light Yagami. One day, he was going to school when he saw a notebook left alone on the ground. He picked it up and discovered it was the Death Note. It allows the owner to kill people by writing their names and recognizing their faces. The real owner is the Shinigami God of Death, Ryuk. Ryuk was bored of his life in the Shinigami world so he befriends Light. Ryuk tags along with Light in his mission to rid of the world of evil using the Death Note.

The FBI and international police organizations have been noticing the deaths of hundreds of criminals by heart attacks and has brought this case to a guy only known as "L". Now, Light is doing all he can to stay on top on L and figure out who L really is before he's caught.

I love intelligent protagonists and Light is no exception. Having a smart antagonist go against our protagonist is even better. L and Light are so intelligently-alike that they manage to survive because of knowing the other person's thinking. I feel like the almost have the same genetic code when it comes to their brains. It's so intense and both of them won't back down so it's filled with action.

I honestly can't wait to read the next one!
