Really fascinating read, especially for those die-hard Titanic interested students. Lots of information about the building of the ship, the trip, sinking and aftermath. Included many details that I was unaware of previously. Kate Messner’s writing is approachable and informative.

4.5 stars.

Accessible and fascinating historical non-fiction written for kids. This looks like a great series to help kids (and adults, for that matter) understand and be interested in major historical events. I learned some things I hadn't known before about the Titanic disaster and would certainly be open to reading more books in the series.

+The true history not watered down by textbooks; great way to tell nonfiction
+Illustrations and comic panels help kids understand some of the mechanics involved in the explanation of how the Titanic was built and the issues it had before and after hitting the iceberg
+CW: death, sexism, classism

4.5 bc it still is NF and can be dry at times

A book about the Titanic that debunks some myths about the ship and its demise.

I really love the History Smasher series. They give you so much information, but it's delivered in an engaging way. There are traditional chapters mixed with graphic novel elements, some sidebars and tons of pictures. This book covered everything from the construction of the ship, to the sinking and even to more recent efforts to preserve the ship and its artifacts. I even learned some new facts about the boat.

Overall, a well written book that gives you the most accurate information about the Titanic.
