This book is really fun. I love the yucky things: caterpillars, soap, kitty litter, too much ice cream. My kids love to "read" this to me, and it has even turned into a fun game. They like to think of a yummy thing and then think of a yucky thing that sounds similar (grape juice is yummy, grapefruit juice is yucky).
I think this is a great book to read to kids. The only flaw with it is that it labels hot sauce as yucky. My oldest daughter always corrects that page, "Daddy likes hot sauce," she says, "and I sometimes like hot sauce."

Parents (dads especially)seem to enjoy this book. I love how attentive babies are to their parents' reactions to the "yucky" foods. Makes for a very interactive storytime.
If books I requested don't make it, I will try this in my food Baby/Toddler Story Time. Like the Yummy Yucky repetition. Patricelli usually goes over well with the younger children, but not sure if my young crowd will quite get it.
I love the illustrations in this book and the others in its series! And very cute juxtapositions of yummy v. yucky. HOWEVER it loses one rating star for saying that hot sauce is yucky.
My 2-year-old loves this and all Leslie Patricelli books. This one does a nice job of contrasting yummy foods with yucky things that aren't food (blueberries/blue crayons, burger/boogers).
