Jordan Harper writes prose like a punch to the face. His way of bringing noir stories to life with his language is downright inspiring, like he's some sort of reincarnation of Micky Spillane with better story sense. This time he gives us a pitch-black story of a morally devastated PR expert and a former Los Angeles Sheriff gang member as they peel back layer after layer of moral rot in Los Angeles, uncovering a horrible secret that both of them are being paid to just cover over. It's bleak, it's haunting, and it's exceedingly well-written. Noir is alive and well with people like Jordan Harper carrying the torch.

A fast-paced LA noire novel that details the modern sins of Hollywood. Crime novels fans would like it. Don't know why he kept capitalizing UNSAID throughout.

Kind of interesting and timely but a little too dark for me.

Eh, this was fine. I kept waiting for the crazy to happen and it just didn’t. I thought this would be some bombshell, blockbuster and it didn’t play out like that.

I did like the insiders look at LA’s celebrities and elite. The top of the top. That part was super interesting. I wanted more of that. But it all fell flat for me at the end. I wanted a conclusion, a take down, an ENDING but all we got was a fade to black.

This book was VERY hyped and for it me just didn’t live up to it. I would definitely read another book by this author though. See if I like the next one any better.
