It was awesome that this book had a soundtrack, but the whole will they/won’t they cheat premise was unappealing to me.

It’s amazing how Colleen Hoover can be a 5 star for me (Ugly Love, it ends with us and all your perfects), enjoyable (regretting you and heart bones) and then just weak and kind of boring (maybe someday, Confess, without merit, number 9).

This is book one in the Maybe Someday series. I devoured this book. This book follows Ridge and Sydney. The songs that are provided with the book just topped it off. I love the character development of these two and how their story played out.

I honestly don’t know where to start. I love parts where they’re writing songs and pour out emotions to the songs. I love the chemistry between Ridge and Sydney. If we’re talking about cheating, then the blame is on Ridge. I know it’s a two way street, but Ridge do things that make it hard for Sydney not to fall in love with him. I mean I think almost every girl would swoon if somebody touch her the way Ridge touch Sydney. If you don’t like a cheating main character, than this book is not for you. I know Ridge has said that he won’t make her a Tori but he does. But I don’t know, I love it but I can see why people don’t like this book. I have heard the songs that they’ve written together and for her. And honestly I cried. I hate that Ridge is cheating on Maggie, but maybe it’s best for both of them. I also love it when Sydney learn sign for him. It means she wants to make it work by learning how to communicate with him. But I’ve decided not to read the sequel and novella to this book. I think it ends perfectly just the way it is.

This book made me realize why I love Colleens books; its not for the plot, or for how incredibly sexy she writes her male characters to be but its the way she describes the feelings each couple faces through their journey of love.
I take colleens words very literally when I read because I enjoy learning more about "what love is" and this book truly broke my heart as a result of that.
The core of this book in my eyes surrounded the fact that you can be in love with two people at once and that was a harsh reality to face. I was mentally fighting the plot each sentence I read because it hurt me as much as it hurt Sydney to see Ridge be in love with someone else, but my heart also broke for Ridge because of how torn he was, and for Maggie for getting cheated on in such an innocent way whilst being TERMINALLY ILL.
I wanted to throw my book at a wall when I read a line near the end of this book "You cant control who you fall in love with, only who you stay in love with" because I refuse to believe that my future husband one day can accidentally fall in love with someone else.
Overall this book triggered my fight or flight but Colleens writing makes it so difficult to put the book down.
I was hesitant at the end because I really didn't know how Colleen would redeem herself for the rollercoaster she just made me live through full of shame, guilt, excitement, secrets and soul crushing events but of course she ended the book with a scene that made me want to jump in front of a train because of how in love I was with the love the characters felt.
Once again Colleen, you never disappoint.

But can we please all just acknowledge the fact that we were accomplices to the crime Ridge was committing by cheating on a terminally ill deaf girl for a whole 300 pages...
