Mary Roach is one of my favourite non-fiction writers, so it's no surprise I enjoyed this collection of her Reader's Digest columns. Rather than sticking to a theme like her other books, these columns cover a variety of subjects but mostly concern the good-natured domestic skirmishes she has with her long-suffering husband. Light, funny and easy to read.

Pretty short, easy, and lighthearted. Listened to the audiobook.

Some of these satirical columns that Mary Roach wrote for Reader’s Digest are funny. For example, I really liked the satire about call to the customer service. But this book lacks the rigour of Mary Roach’s books like Bonk, Gulp or Stiff.

I’ve only read Mary Roach’s pop-science books, so starting a collection of her Reader’s Digest columns took a little time to get used to, but I enjoyed her sweet anecdotes and great sense of humor.

I was a little skeptical of this book. Oh, I LOVE Mary Roach's science writing. This is the woman who got me to research green burial options and to measure my clitoris, I KNOW she can write. But I wasn't so sure I'd like her more personal writings. Without science, would I even care?
Wow, yes. Yes, I care. Mary Roach is the kind of woman I want to be. Or already am, in the more unfortunate cases. Going on WebMD to find she has every disease ever, arguing with her husband about degrees of clean-ness in the house, cheating outrageously during a diet.
I was smiling the entire time I read this book.

A fun collection of essays that have been collected into a book. Not as compelling as her full books, but written with her good natured humour, and enjoyable to read. Not a very good narrator though; annoying voice

There were many chuckles, chortles, and guffaws to be had. Mary Roach is as funny as ever!
