The hype is well founded; a good graphic novel if not a little cliche.
The premise is not really my cup of tea but I might continue the series on a whim someday.

My first venture into graphic novels... I think I picked a good one to start with, will definitely be following the rest of the series

You can tell how much I LOVED this book by the fact that I finished it in one day. Since I don't read graphic novels, I look forward to looking back and telling people that this was my introduction to the genre, the book that encouraged me to read much more of the same. This is the best action-romance-fantasy I've read in a while with gorgeous art that depicts out-of-this-world awesome characters and character designs. The plot is sufficiently complicated to keep you interested and just the right amount of confused, but not so much so that it takes away from the actual story. I will be spending way too much money on these in the future, but I can't find it within myself to be upset about it.

Interesting premise and I like the art style. It’s very much suffers from being Written By a Man but maybe the next volumes will be better.

While I enjoyed this plenty, I don't quite what all the hype is about. Is it the fact that it's a readable graphic novel for non-graphic novel readers? That sets the bar kind of low for amazing-ness. All this isn't to say that I won't continue reading this series, because I probably will. It's a fun story. I just wouldn't call it earth-shattering.

Okay so, I'm really on the fence which is why I chose to go with two stars. I really loved that it was so different and I think with more the world building would all make sense, but this isn't my kind of story I don't think which is why I won't continue. The graphics were absolutely beautiful by the way! But I think my slight dislike for the characters worked against me loving it. But I can definitely see why people love it

This graphic novel was so weird... but I liked it. I need the second volume!
