God this book is so good. It was one of the first queer stories i ever read and everytime i revisit it i cry. It very much feels like a gay book from 2007. It was so good. While it does heavily deal with homophobia and the MC's relationship with his father, it is a fantastic book that really plays on superheroes and police and the way that these interact and intersect with queerness.
