The book is fine. It didn't grip me like some of the others. The characters are also fine, but definitely not ready to be in a relationship. Especially by the end of the book. It's like the longer it went on, the worse the relationship got. And that didn't really improve by the end. The book had decent character depth though. And shout out to mentions of the Mitchel Brothers from the other series.

Can't stand main character since all they talk about is not deserving whatever is happening around them. I'm all for self-deprecation but that's a bit much. And all the "hardship" they went through was of their own doing so I'm hard pressed to be sympathetic towards them. Harsh review I know but the plot of the book seemed a cheap way to get the main characters together for some sexy times when the author has done that way better before.

This was definitely enjoyable enough. I liked getting to see the Mike Bravo team again. Callie is the main reason I truly enjoyed this story. Callie experiences so much growth, and I do think the author handled the trauma of domestic abuse in a respectable and delicate way. I liked seeing the journey Callie goes on as an individual. Zeus treats him the way he really should be treated, and I love that for him. Zeus is an okay character. I don't love him, he's just fine to me. The banter and wit is great as well, which wasn't a surprise. Overall, this is an okay read with some entertaining elements that you can always expect from Eden Finley. I'm mostly curious about what is going to happen with Decaf, so hopefully we will find out.
