This book lives rent free in my head! Zeus and Callie are everything! I think of all the Mike Bravo guys, these two are my favorite. Their story is incredibly sweet, Zeus is so understanding of Callie’s past and does everything to show him how much better he deserves. 10/10 recommend!!!
I wasn't really sure what to expect going into this book in the Mike Bravo series as we have only seen small glimpses of our two MCs in the previous books, but this book delivered just the right balance of emotional depth, medium angst (which for an EF book is quite a lot), and well-paced romantic development.
Even though Saint & Iris are still my favorite couple, I can definitely see Zeus and Callie as close seconds. Look I'm not gonna lie and say this is anywhere near realistic because both Zeus & Callie have so much baggage and trauma and probably need to be in therapy and not even thinking about getting into a relationship with anyone but I don't even care because the instant protectiveness and slight codependency were so swoony to read.
I also appreciated that Callie wanted to stand on his own two feet and be self-reliant before relying on the Mike Bravo team once again, solely as a means for re-establishing his own confidence and self worth. It was a wonderful part of his character's journey to see on page.
*I received an arc of this book, all opinions are my own*

Callie is my favourite, he's deliciously funny and a little bit broken. But he's just trying to survive and when his fight or flight instinct kicks in he makes some terrible decisions!! Zeus just can't help himself, he sees so much of his sister in Callie, and I adored his storyline and growth. I loved that Callies true character came out by the end and we saw he was just the most caring and adorable guy, just wanting to help save others. I actually loved the third act breakup as it was a really good thing for both the characters and seeing what they managed to do alone so they would be ready for another relationship, they worked on themselves and it was so good! Absolutely loved it.

Reread: I listened to it on audio and I loved the storyline again!!! The only issue I had was the voice inconsistency. Tim Paige was Callie and had a deep voice but when Liam DiCosimo voices Callie’s parts it’s higher pitched and soft. Still great overall but it took me longer than I would’ve liked to get my brain on track with that.

Glad I decided to continue on after the mess that I found the last book to be. This was a vast improvement and was super fun! I really enjoyed seeing Callie get his redemption arc and I loved Zeus!
Not a groundbreaking romance by any means but it was a good time and that’s really all I was looking for with this one.
4.5⭐️

Nope. This was so bad. I’m starting to feel like I should just give up on this author. Whatever charm and spark her writing used to have, her books no longer got it. She’s had a lot of misses lately, a few mediocre ones, and literally no gems at all.
Anyway, back to the book at hand. First of all, the relationship was very uncomfortable and extremely superficial; Callie literally did nothing but objectify Zeus and seemed to only be obsessed with how good-looking the guy was (even when he literally thought Zeus was there to KILL him). Meanwhile, Zeus just seemed to see Callie as a project for him to fix. Like Callie was a way for him to redeem his past mistakes.
There was nothing romantic about it. It was sort of like trauma-bonding but without any real feelings. These two had less than zero chemistry and they had no connection between them whatsoever. It was all completely meaningless and without any emotion or depth.
Furthermore, I know this book desperately tried to make me feel sorry for Callie and think he’s innocent in everything he’s done, but I don’t believe that at all. Callie is awful for what he did, and there are no excuses. I honestly got so sick and tired of his self-pity.

Plenty of Mike Bravo Shenanigans!
Zeus by Eden Finley is a wonderful new story in the Mike Bravo Ops series. Zeus & Sam (Callie) are a fantastically crazy couple.
Callie gets into some trouble with a mobster and Zeus and the team are there to get him out & make sure he stays safe. They begin to fall for each other pretty quickly but they're both relationship shy.
It's awesome watching these two get over themselves and finding each other. Of course the whole team is there to make everything go smoothly (ha!).
Terrific MB humor, moments of sweetness, lots of action, and all the spice!
