This book has to be my favorite in the trilogy. It was absolutely gripping and I couldn't pull myself away to accomplish anything else in my life.

Throughout the series I have fallen in love with both Tamras and Maara and the world that encompasses the two of them. I'm upset that the story is over because now I want more. I would love to read a story that takes place in the near future that follows Tamras and her duties as the Lady of the land.

My only complaint is that the final resolution ended much quicker than any of the other challenges that Tamras faced. It felt kind of rushed. But maybe that's just me feeling negative that I knew the story was ended when I didn't want it to yet.

I highly recommend this series to anyone that is looking for a thoughtful, coming-of-age adventure story focused around women and their relationships with each other weather it be romantic, platonic, or maternal.

i love the journey of reading this. i feel like a new person lol the author put more plot in the last book and it's an excellent conclusion. honestly though i love the characterization of this series. they gave me a mc who's compassionate and genuine but also a little flawed, who values every life even her enemies, and who follows what her heart wants unapologetically. this series made me see the nature around us in a different way. the writing is simple but it reads like a fantasy book. a little odd but sincere. i love the romantic subplot and how that love made them grow as a person. the only thing that might put people off is how the style is a lot more telling than showing but i have to say it suits the story.

“What is it that we search for? Every child knows the answer. We search for love. Love is our shelter. Love is our purpose. Love is why we are here.”

5 stars. Perfect ending to this story. I wouldn’t change a thing about it honestly. I love these books so dearly but can not put that into words. I just want more people to read it because the writing is stunning, the characters and their growth is fantastic, and the romance is beautiful and so swoon worthy. I cannot recommend it enough and I wish there were more books by this author because she has such a gift for the written word. I’ve loved being in this world and reading these books for the past three days. I can’t wait to read these books all over again. They’re very comforting and gorgeous. Highly, highly, highly recommend.

I will probably write a more elaborate review for this book (and the second) sometime later. Just wanted to say that this was as good as the previous ones. Just with... too much focus on male characters for my tastes and in comparison to the other two. Still loving the trilogy

I really love this whole series. It is a bit subtle and very slow and kind.

I enjoy the characters and especially in this book the fluidity of a person. The book speaks in an eloquent way about difficult and deep things that I find comforting and nice to read in fiction, for once.

Not to mention, I just love war fiction with the battle strategies and gaining allies and friend on the forefront. I just hope it would have continued longer to explore more the setting after the ending. Even an epilogue would have been nice.
